Southeast Bitcoin to unveil South Carolina’s First Bitcoin ATM at Dig South Interactive Technology Festival on April 10
CHARLESTON, SC (April 9, 2014) – Southeast Bitcoin, in partnership with Robocoin, will unveil South Carolina’s first Robocoin Bitcoin ATM Thursday April 10th and Friday April 11th at South Carolina’s Dig South Interactive Technology Festival in Charleson, SC. The Bitcoin ATM machine will be hosted at the College of Charleston TD Arena.
With Robocoin’s groundbreaking technology, the Bitcoin ATM will allow customers to buy and sell Bitcoins at market prices, as well as deposit cash from customers’ accounts. Making transfers to or from a user’s Bitcoin virtual wallet is accomplished quickly and easily through the Robocoin interface. The Robocoin security features include user identity verification including the scanning of a government-issued photo ID and biometric sensors.
Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, utilize instant, global, peer-to-peer transactions to make and receive payments over the Internet. Using mobile apps or computers connected to the Internet, Bitcoins can be purchased or sold through exchanges such as Bitstamp or directly from individuals. Already, more than 21,000 merchants are using services such as Coinbase to accept Bitcoin from customers and businesses such as Overstock.com, Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic and even some Subway sandwich shops have begun accepting Bitcoin as well.
Charleston, SC joins Austin, Boston, Seattle and a handful of other cities to be among the first cities in the nation to have a Bitcoin ATM machine. “Charleston is quickly becoming the Southeast’s major hub for high-tech and innovation. It makes perfect sense for Charleston to be among the first cities in the country to have a Bitcoin ATM,” said Southeast Bitcoin’s co-founder Trey Morrison. “There has been a ton of excitement about Bitcoin ATM technology, and we look forward to growing our business here in Charleston, and throughout the Southeast U.S.”Tags:Back to TopRecent Posts
